Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA)

A federal law passed by Congress in 1975 to help customers in resolving disputes with credit card issuers. Under the FCBA, a consumer cannot be held liable for more than $50 of fraudulent charges made to your credit card. However, to be protected, the consumer must dispute the error within 60 days of the date on the bill.
